Over his 40-plus years of drumming, Joel has performed or recorded with such artists as The Blind Chitlin Kahunas, Bo Diddley, Davy Jones, Grammy Nominee Melissa Reaves, The Spiral Starecase, Joan Osborne, Steve Lambert (Roman Holliday), Tas Cru, Dave Keyes, violinist David Rose, Tino Gonzalez, harmonica great Corky Siegel, foremost Dolly Parton tribute artist Sandy Vee Anderson, and more.

With his own bands, Joel has shared stages with the likes of Tower Of Power, Levon Helm, Cheap Trick, Johnny Winter, Rick Derringer, David Johansen, Kim Simmonds & Savoy Brown, Edgar Winter, 38 Special, The Nighthawks, Canned Heat, Hubert Sumlin, Joe Louis Walker, Luther Allison, Peter Harper, Alexis P. Suter, and more.

Joel's most renowned and prolific band for many years was The Blind Chitlin Kahunas, with whom he recorded their acclaimed, singular album 'This Old Guitar,' which is still available for purchase or streaming through many online music services, including Amazon and Spotify.

When he hasn't been working a groove behind the drumkit, Joel has also greatly enjoyed working 'back-stage' as a drum tech, and has had the privilege of supporting such greats as Levon Helm, The Pretenders, Joan Jett, John Waite, Patty Smythe, 38 Special, The Hooters, and lots of others. Joel regularly offers his drums & drum tech services to many local festivals and events ... especially those hosted by the Billtown Blues Association, a phenomenal organization that has kept 'the blues' alive and well in Northcentral Pennsylvania since 1990.

Joel currently performs and tours with The Gabe Stillman Band, as well as playing regionally with highly-regarded acts Lumpy Gravy, The Doug McMinn Blues Band (and a jazz quartet version as well), JT & The Denicats, Stacia Abernatha, and others as called upon. In the past, he has also performed with countless local acts, including Rubber Soul & The Helter Skelter Horns (Pennsylvania's preeminent Beatles tribute act), Bluezilla, Blow Dog & The Maple Men, Bop Top, Three Blind Mice, Rhythm Face, Loni Gamble & Sound Cheque, Prism, Finesse, Ken Wittman, Prince Charles & The Royaltones, and Sue Bloom, to name but a small handful.
